If you read health and fitness magazines, then the name Jon Benson is one that you’ve probably came across numerous times. As a personal trainer to many top athletes and celebrities, Jon Benson is a well respected trainer and probably best known for his Fit Over 40 program which is designed to help older people get in shape.

The idea of building muscle in 7 minutes a day sounds almost impossible since most of use spend at least an hour a day in the gym. Being a muscle junky I had to check this out to see what the hype is all about.

The 7 minute Muscle program is probably not what most people sell it as. If you are looking for a muscle building program then this is not it – and it wasn’t designed to be that. This is all about getting the maximum results in the minimum amount of time. It’s all about training as smart as possible to maximize your training. Jon says that as much as 80% of what most of us do in the gym, has no real effect. 80% of your results comes from 20% of your training and it’s that 20% that 7-Minute Muscle focuses on.

The 7-Minute Muscle ebook comes with 6 great training videos that focuses on the 6 “showpiece” muscle groups. Each video illustrates Jon Benson’s trademark workout routines and shows you the perfect techniques to help you get the most out of every second of your workout. The program does include a couple of bonuses, but they are nothing worth mentioning nor do they add any real value to the program.

One thing is for sure. Jon Benson’s 7-Minute Muscle is a unique program and his techniques are very different from what you would find in your typical bodybuilding programs on run of the mill magazines. It’s designed for the busy person who can’t spend hours a day in the gym.

Jon goes into great detail explaining why most people who kill themselves in the gym are jeopardizing their health. This program is all about toning up, looking good and feeling healthy. You will find some very creative ways of training and learning how to maximize on your training can help even the most experienced lifter get more out of his workouts.

The single best feature of Jon Benson’s 7-Minute Muscle is his 3-Flow Technique that’s based on Psycho-physiology – a fancy word for how the mind and body effects each other to increase performance. This is a hot topic in the fitness world at the moments and everybody is slowly catching on. Jon is one of the foremost trainers in this area and his extensive experience and understanding can help you gain some great results.

Coming from a body building background I was expecting a full on body building program from Jon Benson. Instead, I found a fitness manual – without the usual workout routines, meal plans and supplement guides. Although it’s not meant to be that, I do think that a proper nutritional guide needs to be integrated into the program.

Although the 7 minute routines sounds great in theory it tends to take longer than that and I found myself wanting to do more – as if I did not work hard enough. From that point of view, it’s probably better geared towards beginner body builders or people who just want to tone up. With that being said, some of the routines are pretty intense and if you are a beginner you can injure yourself if you’re not careful.

If you are looking for a full muscle building program, then this is not the program for you.

That fact that it’s designed into very short workout routines makes it easy to stick to and unlike other long workout routines y can easily follow though on only 7 minutes a day. I can see this program working well for busy people stuck in a 9 to 5. By simply nipping 30 minutes out of your day, you can easily go to the gym, do your 7 minutes and be done in half an hour.

I would recommend Jon Benson’s 7 Minute Muscle to both men and women who needs to get back in shape. If you need to lose weight and get toned then this program is for you. The workouts are fantastic at building muscle tone and shedding extra pounds without spending hours in the gym.

If you are primarily focused at building muscle, then I would recommend the program solely for the chapter on Psycho-physiology. This is a fascinating subject and Jon Benson’s 3-Flow Technique is one of the techniques that’s had the greatest impact on the way I train.
